Team rankings mean a lot more in football

Than in basketball.

In football if you want to compete for the playoff you have to have a top 10 class every year for the 4 years that make up your team. I think Oregon is the exception to this. Maybe that changes with the talk of a 12 team playoff.

In basketball the majority of the final 4 teams over the last decade haven’t even averaged a top 30 class over the 4 years making up those teams teams over the last decade.

Cuonzo does need to start getting some elite guys. Elite to me is in the top 40-50 range. Get 3-4 of them at all times and Mizzou can start contending for the top of the SEC. instead of just the tournament
