can't really count the Kim years as true MU basketball because I don't think its fair to say MU was trying in that period. Kim was an unmitigated disaster, which was predictable, but entirely unpredictable to what an extreme extent.

So in my opinion MU had failed to make the NCAA tourney 1 season prior to when Cuonzo was hired when we fell on the wrong side of the tourney bubble in 2013-14 and went to the NIT, then gave up on men's basketball entirely, and then hired Cuonzo for the 2017-18 season.
