He took McKinney. I don't think he avoids players due to personal problems. Maybe some, but it doesn't stop him from going after a player he wants.

Martin went all-in on high profile recruits in 18, 19, and 20. He largely whiffed on all of them. If you're going to build a successful program you have to win some of those battles. Especially for local kids. He just has to get the job done.
