- MU is historically bad, averaging 10 wins per year
- Cuonzo is hired
- Cuonzo immediately doubles MU's win rate and makes 2 tourneys in 4 years
- Delusional fans: "MU IS DESTINED TO BE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN THIS"
- Cuonzo fired
What do you think happens next in this story? Does MU decide to spend a lot more on basketball hoping to meet the conditions set by the fairweather fans? Does a good coach choose MU over any other job opening? Does our budget stay 13/14? If so, do we expect to finish better than 13/14 with a new coach? If so, why do we expect that?
My guess is we end up struggling to find anyone to come here, then we overpay a mediocre coach, which is exactly how we ended up with Cuonzo in the first place.
