work your way out. It used to be that working your way out was the easiest. Both my parents came from dirt poor upbringings. One had a HS education and one a GED. But 50 years ago you could work your way out which they both did.

There are not many opportunities to find no skill jobs and work your way out today. If you want out of poverty today stay in school, stay out of the court system, stay sober and don't have children. If you follow those four steps you should find yourself living at least a middle class existence.
