I already pointed out the problem with historians. They do not believe the majority of Gospels were written until after 70 AD just because they can't accept any sort of prophecy. So they place a limit on the text based upon their preconceived beliefs.
Read the text of Mark. It limits what is embarrassing to Peter found in other Gospels.
The preaching style of Peter recorded in Acts is mirrored in the book of Mark. Luke records Peter's preaching focus is on the life of Jesus, his death, resurrection and ascension. This is what the Gospel of Mark records. It ignores any birth narrative. Luke also records in Acts that Mark was a companion of Peter.
There is no recording of the death Peter nor Paul in the New Testament. Only James' death in 44ce is recorded.
