"FOLLOWERS of Jesus" are those who followed the man, his tight group which numbered anywhere from 8 to 10 or so were peasants. They were all peasants. You think they studied the three R's reading riting and rithmatic at Capernum PS 101.

They were not educated. By the time Paul is writing letters he is writing them to Corinth and communities who had a handful of folks who could read and copy. But by and large 90% could not.
