I know that is a fall back. Who else can verify that story I wonder.

I also know that Pilate executed thousands and this one no different. There was no discussion with the accused. Not what Pilate did. He also did not bargain for bodies. It makes ZERO sense to crucify someone and not post the body on the cross to scare the fck out of everyone. THAT was the only reason they crucified people - it was a warning. I know the Joseph of Aramathea story, I think it is a bit too neat.

Christianity is the only tradition that insists it is all based on historical events. For the most part it is really a metaphor and a great story.
