unless this was in their past. Heck, most general practitioners probably don't know the details of what they are doing. Science has become so specific in terms of the details, that unless you are in the area, have studied extensively recently, or attended a conference with this as a focus, you are likely all getting the information from similar places.
With that in mind, I took an immunology class even 20 years ago, and this type of vaccine was talked about at that time, so this is not new to the science. The fact that they developed it so fast also says that the research had vastly improved since then.
From my perspective, the odds of a failure are much much less than 1%, but I also look at it from a perspective...I don't want to get sick for a few days, and I sure don't want to pass it on to others that might be more risky...as well as that it is very likely that I will need the vaccine to do extensive travel (or have to go through COVID testing as I travel), which I hope returns as part as my job later this year.
