So, the federal govt could pass a law to confiscate all firearms, and it would be assumed to be constitutional until a lawsuit was filed in the district court decided, appealed to the circuit court decided, and then appealed to and accepted by SCOTUS to review?

And then what happens if the SCOTUS judges say that such law is constitutional?
