I ask for a large enough retainer up front that I know they can pay. If they can't pay that initial retainer they won't be able to fund the legal services after that dries up so I don't take the matter.

This is a real problem in the legal field, hiring clients before learning whether they can pay.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
