the shift, but major league managers and hitting coaches haven't figured out this easy solution? Or they're too stubborn to actually implement something so simple that they believe would work?

The shift is becoming more popular, not less. And if it was so easy for a major league hitter to "slap the ball" away from the shift, it would happen multiple times a game on every single team. Except, that "slap the ball" against the shift is pretty rare.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
