700,000 Americans died. Had the confederacy won, it would be a different story. It would be 500,000 Unionists died and 200,000 Confederates died and that's because Lee was an enemy of the United States of America. I am clueless because I am trying to understand the concept that Lee was anything but an enemy of the United States of America and I don't follow the logic.
