being from Missouri. First, none of my ancestors have statues and maybe if one did I would feel more strongly about the issue.

At the end of the day, guys like Lee were literally fighting against the United States of America and had they won the war, they would now be known as leaders of a country other than the United States of America. What's ironic is that if Lincoln was asked, he probably would have said Lee was a citizen of the United States of America but if you asked Lee, he would have said he's not.
