Why do people take such offense to removal of confederate statues? It's not erasing history. I would never want to erase that history for fear of repeating it. But honoring and worshiping an individual with a statue is far different than eliminating their name from history books. After all, confederate generals arguably weren't even part of this country (at least if you asked them at the time) and most certainly fought against this great country.
On a side note, I would be curious to know if there is any sort of correlation between those that claim to be super-patriotic and against kneeling during the national anthem because it disrespects our flag and the UNITED States of America and those people who are offended at removing confederate statues of people who couldn't have disrespected the UNITED States of America more.
I could be wrong, but it seems like the same people to ***** about kneeling disrespecting our country are many times the same people defending commemorations to people who actually fought against our country.
