the bad has done harm across the board. I for one have never understood it either. As a teacher if you keep bad teachers around it cheats the kids off an education and makes my job harder. Why would I want to protect bad teachers? I don't see the personal or professional benefit.

I cannot think of a single situation where protecting a bad worker is a benefit to the good ones.
