There's no doubt little dixie existed but that isn't where my family is from.
My grandfather, the first to attend Mizzou was born in Ottawa kansas. He was a hard liner like Norm Stewart, he never spent a dime within those borders. He was sent to the big city to attend the kansas city musical conservatory as a child, and would never look back. When he earned his JD from Mizzou mid century he was married and had three young sons, moved the entire family to Raytown and practiced law until his death. He worked farmer hours, even into his later years he was the first in the office and the last to leave.
