one that the closings were premature and reactionary. Yes, I am at home and getting paid. I am also creating daily lessons, holding daily office hours, answering questions via email from when I wake up until I go to bed. I am also still grading papers, creating assignments, having faculty and department meetings as well as multiple teleconferences for SPED kids. No it is not the same but I am not sitting home eating Bon Bons and watching Dr. Phil either.

While my family is economically secure during this I work in a urban district where a large percentage of the families are supported by service industry jobs. I hate to think about the toll this is having on my students. The shut down has done far more damage than the couple hundred, mostly elderly, who have died in their city.
