(i removed the names of the two hospitals she mentioned)
"Hey, I'm sliding into your DMs to drop some truth 😏😎
So I would love to post this on my FB but I think there would get me in big trouble at work. But I thought you would be interested in hearing about this.
I work at (hospital) and my unit is now the designated Covid19 unit. They are rationing our PPE but the truth is we have no patients. Last time I saw the numbers 3 kids total have tested positive.
Now that is great that kids aren't sick but it means we have no work. They have canceled my scheduled shifts for the last 2 week's and I have to use my PTO. I'm sure there are places that are busy and healthcare workers are really risking their lives but not at my hospital.
(another hospital in the same group) has been closed and we are being forced to share what shifts we are getting to work, with the nurses from (that) Hospital.
So all these TikTok videos nurses are making....its because they have nothing else to do.
I feel like I live in the Twilight Zone.
The hospital is not being very transparent. I for one, would really like to know what they are doing with all the donations we are getting from people that think we are on the front lines".
I wouldn't expect her to be busy with children covid19 patients, but the problem is the two hospitals she mentioned are normally very busy children's hospitals but now the nurses are sitting around with nothing to do b/c they are so far under normal census. covid19 didn't magically cure all these other illnesses and injuries. This is just another example of people, in this case, children, forgoing medical and psychological care right now. The repercussions from this behavior across the country will show up down the road.
