1) Mizzou is an attractive coaching job for many reasons starting with the region. Look we're smack in the middle of two recruiting hot beds. As Pinkel proved if you can snag the best guys in your state you can win the SEC East.
2) You're in the SEC: As Texas is finding out, Texas AM and stealing a lot of the best guys from Texas, something that never happened before. Mizzou is a draw just from being in the SEC but you need a coach with some swag to take advantage of that fact. We dont 'have that currently.
3) Facilities: At this point Mizzou has some of the best facilities in the entire country. I don't know where we'd rank, clearly not as good as some schools but it has to be in the top 20 of all D1 programs. This is a recruiting asset.
4) Uniforms: All players like to look good and Mizzou has some nice uniforms, helmets, logos, and more. Nothing not to like there.
5) SEC East: Its not like you're taking over a program in the SEC West, this is the SEC EAST... you have a shot to win the conference every single season. As long as you can get to the championship game anything can happen.
6) Media: Again Missouri is a bigger media market than almost every single school's state in the SEC. Florida, Georgia, Texas, we're forth biggest state in the SEC. Tennessee and Mizzou are essentially tied but we have two top 30 media markets they only have one.
Why do you look for TRUE SONS... we need to go out and hire the best coach no matter the cost.
We're in the SEC it's time to start acting like it... we can recruit our state, Kansas, Illinois and more. Missouri has more states touching it than any other state in America. You should be able to recruit if we just hire the right guy.
I nominate Lane Kiffin.
