I lived in San Antonio 35 years ago and loved to go up to Austin and enjoy the great laid back attitude of the folks there. I especially loved the old Scholz Garden and Speedy’s on 6th St..

I revisited SA and Austin 5 years ago. It appears that Austin has grown into more of a large “corporate” tight ass city, while the craziness and funk has migrated to SA. We did experience pockets of the old Austin.

Scholz turned into a tourist trap. RIP Speedy’s.
