safety and less a desire to keep things clouded for the outside world. Most religions work to spread their message rather than hide it. There is a reason Martin Luther considered the Pope anti-Christ. I do not believe in the infallibility of the pope. But even in the case of the Pope, he does not claim divine nature and worship for himself but points to Christ. Most cults have contemporary figures who claim to be some element of messiah themselves.
And I always welcome conversations on such matters. As you know, I don't really get into debates as if I had proof I would not need faith. But I very much enjoy sharing the reason for my true hope and joy in this lifetime.
