They will sell beer throughout the stadium if they think that will bring them more money from beer sales than they might lose by making some donors mad. They also have to factor in that more people might buy tickets throughout the stadium if they can buy beer (which I'm guessing is the major reason the SEC changed the rule, to combat declining attendance).

I have no interest in drinking during the game, so I don't have a dog in this fight. I just want the AD to bring in as much money as possible, we need it to keep up with the Jones' in the SEC.
