doesn't fit the crime, it doesn't change the fact that major infractions occurred.
An admission of guilt and cooperation with authorities may be noble (I respect that) but it doesn't change the fact that we committed a serious breach of the rules.
Obviously the punishment doesn't fit the crime, but it falls short in a legal sense. If while driving 100+mph on I-70 with a pack of ten vehicles, somehow you get singled out and pulled over. Your rationale that everyone else was speeding too, doesn't exonerate you.
