Newspapers, the primary form of media until about the 1960s, have long supported one politic party or another.
Local TV stations have long been the unbiased source, not choosing a side to support. For the most part, local TV still is. Network news changed it all with 24/7 news in the 90s, heading away from news, but more a pundit style coverage. Why? Because people wanted it.
Now with the rise of the internet in media, both sides have a bigger voice, but so do the extremists. Social media has allowed the push of false narratives countless times. This idea of MSM in today’s world is a joke. There is no such thing.
No one wants to here actual unbiased news if it relates to one party or another. They only want to hear about the side that reflects good on their beliefs and poorly on their opponents. Even if it’s false.
