out in the constitution because they were supposed to act as a check on government power and corruption.
For the first two hundred years of our republic the mostly did that. But since the beginning of the new millennium the press has turned into a cheerleader for one side and a heckler for the other.
Since Trump has taken office there have been no new wars started, employment is at an all time high, tax rates have went down while tax revenue has increased and the economy is in the best shape in decades. Despite this over 90% of the stories about the president in the media are negative. Yet with much less positive news both foreign and domestic the last president received almost entirely positive coverage.
The media is no longer tested by the American people and it is totally their own fault.
