Losing Geist and Puryear is not 'addition

by subtraction'. They are both solid 4th-8th guys on the team who are in positions where they don't have experienced solid players around them. The incessant nagging on "KA players" at this point is boorish. Believe it or not, we would have greatly benefitted from having Cullen Van Leer on this year's team.
Puryear was a 10 and 5 guy as a freshman and will likely finish his career as one. His stats have gone down as he has actually had LESS support around him than he did in his first 2 years-----he's just not a player who can be "the man". Never has been, and it was pretty clear early on he would not ever be.
Geist is arguably one of the more improved MU players of this century. He WILL receive All-Conference recognition and after his first season we could have wagered $100 on that ever happening and made a lot of money.
Time will tell how CM will be able to recruit without the 'Porter factor'........ hopefully that will not be until after next season.
I watch because I'm Mizzou fan.
