people who overstay visa's are largely students and guest workers.
they have met with a consular officer and been interviewed. We have copies of their passports. we have their photos. we have other PII on them.
make no mistake the Visa process needs to be tightened up too, but to say that it's analogous to people who enter illegally and without inspection is laughable.
they aren't remotely similar in the potential threat they pose.
but I'll make a deal with you, deport every last single Visa overstayer and I'll give up the idea of MORE wall. b/c as you full well know, there are walls in places now. so it's not like they don't already exist. and it's also not like we don't already know that where they exist they are EFFECTIVE.
