OCS actually is revealing deep structural issues

I recall an article in Harpers from 25 yrs ago that suggested that our goal THEN in allegedly spreading the American Way to Mexico and beyond was not about that at all. The real goal was not to make Mexico City more like Cleveland but to make Detroit or Cleveland more like Sao Paulo or Mexico City.
The HUGE gap that OCS illuminates is a trend, well-entrenched now that turns us - the Great Ol USA into a two-tiered banana republic. Perhaps this that OCS is spreading the light on is what scares the Right. Shhh, we don't want to tackle THAT certainly while CEOs are pulling down 500-600 times what the average worker does.
That however IS a dialogue we need to have.
