could destabilize the Big12 enough to get OU without oSu: by adding Missouri and Kansas.
The SEC would almost certainly replace MU with West Virginia (since that would be their best option by far; none of the ACC schools are leaving).
The Big12 (without KU and WVU) would then be reduced to 8 members and have no quality options to expand. That would likely weaken the Big12 enough for OU to get approval from the state legislature to leave without oSu.
Without OU, KU, and WVU, the Big12 would no longer be a power conference, which would force UT's hand. Their best option would be to reunite with A&M in the SEC, but I doubt they would. Instead, they would probably go Indy or join the PAC with TTU, or follow OU/MU/KU to the B1G.
Even if the B1G doesn't get UT in this case, the league would still be substantially upgraded with Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas — along with Nebraska, that's the 4 best schools & brands of the former Big 8, as well as the best rivalries.
