Machado isn't going to sign with us anyway, but I think he's overrated and I think he'll get lazy when those big dollars roll in.

As for Harper, there's no questioning his talent, but his WAR stats show one huge year (9.1 WAR). The last couple of years he's been a 4.1. Last year his defensive WAR was -3.1. Yes, a replacement would have been 3.1 games better in the field. That's terrible.

I think he's got more of a following because he is a prodigy and a bit of a bad boy. But whoever signs him will probably regret it.
