my mom was friends with his wife through one of the social groups she belonged to. I was like 8 years old. I asked him for his autograph and when he gladly gave it to me got the great idea that I could get one for my friends at the Lab school...so I found a drawing tablet and bugged him to give me a bunch of signatures, I think he signed it about 30-40 times, me bugging him to keep signing it over and over. This was in our dining room, adults all dressed up in suit jackets milling around, he did it all with a kind smile on his face, just for the annoying kid of his hosts.
Later I cut them out, but I don't think I ever actually gave more than one or two away-I had them for a while, but eventually I don't know what happened to them-signatures of a fired coach don't mean much at the time.
45 years later I wish I still had it intact
