Posts below reminded me of the time - years after Onofrio was fired - that my sister's car broke down on a Columbia side street one cold night, and she knocked on a nearby door for help. Turns out, it was Al Onofrio's house. She didn't know Onofrio from Vince Lombardi, but noticed all the football paraphernalia in his home, and asked him about it. He explained that he had coached the football team at one time. Then he made sure my sister got the help she needed for her vehicle, and she was on her way. He was very classy, and she was grateful for his kindness.
