They have plenty of good players but no franchise guys who can win titles.

Those type of players are tough to get when you don't have top 5 draft picks. Taveras had a chance to be one but he died which set of a series of unfortunate events that led to Heyward signing with the Cubs.

We need a couple real franchise players like we had in the 2000's when we had multiple.

It's funny how much flack Holliday from Cardinal fans over the years. I gave him some for underachieving in the postseason but he was a huge reason they were as successful as they were.
