RE: When did forward or shooting guard become “wings”?

Have been called wings, Meaning 2Gs and SFs for years. However, it has become more prevelent in the last 4-5 years as athletes have grown bigger and more athletic which lets them play various ways. Other terms have sprout up and grown in popularity, like combo guards, stretch 4s, Lead guards while the term center has dropped in to little use.
The media may be major leaders in the changing of a lot of terminology, but coach cause it too.
