1's not a bad route - we went that way to Destin area

a couple years ago (obviously a different ending).

The experience between routes might vary if you're planning on driving straight thru too. We took off early afternoon & drove to Memphis - spent the night there. That was an easy drive. Worst leg was driving thru ALA - Pensacola may have a cleaner route there, I'm not sure.
