Good managers find ways to win. To get the best from their players. Not sending down slumping hitters to Memphis because coaches lack the ability to help players overcome a slump. There are TONS of red flags when it comes to Matheny as a manager.

The Cubs have been good, but not even making the wild card three years in a row? Unacceptable.

Matheny is not a great coach. He’s behind the times. He doesn’t use many advanced metrics that are common today. His bullpen management is awful.

Dude couldn’t even manage his own finances. The Cards bailed him out.
