In a thread I started below, Spanky makes a big deal about how employer tuition reimbursement is taxable under current policy, (arguing that therefore the proposed change impacting graduate students is fair.) I accepted that representation. Color me gullible. Just by chance, I stumbled on a reference in another piece that said the House plan made tuition assistance taxable. The reference had a link which I followed. Turns out that current policy makes the first 5,250 tax free.
My conclusion, Spanky's representations are unreliable and should be taken with a grain of salt.
