hey if it was up to me, I wouldn't tax tuition assistance either. But, as I indicated in my prior post, by lowering the cost of obtaining graduate assistants, the non-taxability of the tuition reduction reduces the cost to the university of providing instruction. That reduces tuition for everybody, in theory.

That feature is far less direct for your run of the mill undergraduate.

But you didn't respond to my inquiry. What are your views on the public policy issues?
