I don't think you'll see a rush to increase dividends.

There can be perverse incentives. Companies doing stock buybacks to reduce shares and therefore increase earnings per share metrics which allow executives to hit incentive targets for benefit vesting purposes. Not uncommon.

The question becomes where the company will spend or distribute the savings.
