the targeting goes, perhaps it's low odds speculation, but I'm wondering if they think that they can take out Un & his missiles, launchpads etc. with conventional weapons à la the Israeli strikes on Iran.

Trump is acting very confident. Who knows if that's just bravado for show or if his military leaders are confident they can take out Un cleanly and without causing a catastrophe regardless of how he reacts... or doesn't.

It may be that they want him to react in a foolish manner that helps them take him out, or justify doing so.
