3 handguns, self defense, conceal carry.
1 hunting rifle. 22. dispatch coons, possums trapped for garden.
1 semi auto Ar-15. target practice, fun, takes me back to military days. think of it like this, say you was an all conference runner in high school. I wouldn't be surpised if you ran daily. or once in a while ran the track. It was something you was good at, you enjoyed, you even keep doing just to see if you can still do it well.
Hunting, guns, the sport of shooting, is a way of life in my family. As you come of age as boy, you learn to use dangerous things responsibly. you get a pocket knife, do you take care of it, do you lose it? leave it laying around so your baby sister can get ahold of it? you learn responsibility through something like that.
Guns. learn how to shoot it right. Muzzle discipline. how to treat it like its loaded at all times. you get confidence by learning the skills to use a gun properly and safely. - "Dad trusts me to carry and use this".
and it carries on. A Car is a dangerous thing. So is machinery. you have that reference, to take using these dangerous things seriously.
If you didn't grow up in a house like that, I can understand why you wouldn't understand or agree. just my perspective.
