That's an anomaly, and CU wasn't that good last year....

certainly not as good as their record indicated.
They were LIT UP in their final 2 games (losing 41-10 and 38-8) and had more bad losses (as in beatdowns) than quality wins. Their best win of the entire season was a narrow 5-point escape at home over #22 Utah.
Also, if you were to look up every coach that started out 4-8 or worse their first 3 seasons, I bet 95% of them turned out to be losers.
Of course, one thing that helps out in MacIntyre's case is that he proved that he was capable of building a successful program at a previous job (San Jose State) before CU hired him, making it much easier (and less foolish) to give him the benefit of the doubt after 2 or 3 bad seasons.
Odom, on the other hand, has no HC track record. In fact, he didn't even have much experience as a coordinator when we hired him, only 1 year at the P5 level.
