distributes go to those who have contributed but are in need. For example, one third of medicare spending goes to the elderly and disabled. I see corporate welfare as a much larger drain on the federal budget than social welfare programs.
With respect to the economy, production is up. America creates more wealth than it has at any time in it's history. But, for the first time prosperity among the working class isn't keeping up. This is largely due to automation.
When I go to the bank, there are three atm's where 15 years ago there were three tellers. Multiply that times (insert huge number here).
Money is being made hand over fist. It's not the tellers anymore though. It's the corporation that owns the bank. That wealth needs to be re-distributed in a way which helps the average American. Just my opinion...
