The difference with those rivalries and the ones Missouri could potentially make with in-state schools is Missouri has waaay more resources in all sorts of way. It can only have bad consequences for Mizzou if they lose and none for the other teams if they do because it's expected. This logic doesn't work for a potential rivalry like Wichita St/ku because Wichita St is now a high profile basketball school.
