Four teams make the playoff. 68 make the NCAAT. Settling for the NIT, after chasing a bid, is considered a failure to most P5 programs.

I guess if you had to argue no NIT vs making the NIT, then you take the NIT. But I'd hope we have bigger aspirations than that. As a program and in the majority of our conference.
