HC costs wouldn't be so high without government interference

Take government out of the equation completely. Costs go way down for everyone.

If you are 75 years old and get a diagnosis of 6 months to live, it really does not make sense to rack up hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses for treatment in hopes of buying a few months or year of poor quality of life.
