I think more teams are adding pinch running specialists who are not on scholarship (Cohen, Tomita) with the understanding that the chances of them ever touching a glove or a bat during a game are remote. Not a bad deal. You get to be on the softball team, go to all the games & sit in the dugout & only need to attend a practice or two a week.

So while the current Tiger roster stands at 22, it's really 20 since those two women will play so little & only as a base runner.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
