I guess I'm just used to the 18-22 person rosters that seem to accommodate your starters, several others who are good enough to start or platoon and can step in for an injured player, and some role players (pinch runners etc).
I can't believe rosters in the 30 to 30+ range are set up to do anything but a survival of the fittest and constant transfers by girls who excelled in high school and expect regular playing time in college. Not easy being an all state player and having everyone telling you how good you are from an early age and then sitting on the bench in college.
42 is just ridiculous. How do they possibly divide up their scholarship money? Is there something else going on there I'm not aware of?
