Head coach is a totally different kind of job and success at other levels is no guarantee of future performance.
Hell, even successful head coaches in one program become failed head coaches in another.
No one has said 'this is some random guy with no clue' - but bask in your indignation, I'm sure it's straw man tasty.
Now if he were to fail, and then returned to successfully head coach somewhere else, you can bet he'll point to the Mizzou experience as critical to him learning what it really meant to be a P5 head coach.
If that happens guess what the people at the new school would say: 'Gosh we're so smart to have hired someone with P5 head coaching experience'.
LOL. It's just the way the cake is baked.
